How long did it take me to make the first 3 blog posts and videos for my art tutorial series? I think I started on this project in October last year, 8 months ago.
Well, now the first 3 are finally out, starting with the introduction here:
I finished these at the start of the month, and was hoping to finish the remaining 3 lessons this month too. In hindsight this was a bit overambitious, especially given that work has become rather busy as well.
During the month I did make some progress with the remaining tutorials, and was eventually blocked by lack of time in my evenings and weekends, and some technical recording difficulties that I haven't yet been able to overcome.
I did spend some time on Reddit responding to different posts where beginners were asking where to start learning. On the days that I did that, people visited my blog posts, otherwise there was much less traffic. At the end of the month, when I had stopped posting links to my tutorial series, there was no traffic. I suspect I would need to improve my SEO, and have more active social media and directs to the tutorials if I want to have a more continuous flow of visitors to my site. Before that, I am no longer happy with the state of my website, so I would probably do a little revamp before all of the online marketing work.
On the 1000 paintings side of things, I made 4 paintings this month. This is 2 less than last month, but I did meet the target I set for myself for the month. I suspect that next month, I should aim a little higher.

232. Too slow
For this painting, I drew reference from the iconic scene in the Ghost in the Shell film. For the story I wanted to tell, I wanted the subject to be more scared than the character in the film. The character wears an energetic yellow in my scene, instead of the more powerful red, more in line with the nervous energy he has. He also stands in a sickly green scene to emulate the queasy, uneasy feeling he would have been experiencing in his desperate attempts to defeat his invisible enemy.
In terms of my creating story planning, I aimed to write 3000 words this month. I wrote 3079 words.
