TENNYSON PAINTS

Brooklyn 99 has been a font of light-hearted entertainment. There are lots of seasons for me to catch up on so has been fun to binge. I started watching for Terry Crews but stayed for the antics of the full cast

The show is about the 99th police precinct in modern day New York but I decided to paint something a bit more fantastical. In one of the episodes, Terry got to meet his childhood hero, the author of the Skyfire Circle, a series of scifi fiction books within this fictional version of New York. In a later episode Terry and Jake, one of the main characters of Brooklyn 99, had to go undercover in a scifi convention. 

This painting depicts the characters Terry and Jake cosplayed as. Here they are walking down the streets of Brooklyn, or what I think the streets of Brooklyn look like. I used a reference that seemed to look like the streets I saw in the show.

I will admit I used more time than the 45 minute limit I've been trying to stick to; working with perspective lines and painting lots of windows took a lot more time than I expected.
