TENNYSON PAINTS

I finished season 1 of Altered Carbon and thoroughly enjoyed it.  In particular I loved the world they created and the intrigue in the plot.

For this painting I wanted to practice with perspective. After completing 173 Skyfire Cycle, I felt I really struggled with painting the buildings the characters were walking past. For this painting (and the next few that I planned) I wanted to spend a little time at the start of the process analying the vanishing points in the reference photos.

Aside from practicing perspective with buildings I wanted to capture the cyberpunk feel of the city specifically. Also, I wanted to try painting this complex scene and figure out how to convey the feeling or essence of the cyberpunk view in a relatively short amount of time. As with most of the other paintings I aimed to have the painting in a complete form in roughly 45 minutes. Much detail is missing compared to the reference photo, but I think I managed to provide enough detail to make it clear this is a cyberpunk city at night.
