Pillars of Eternity is a fantasy role playing game like Baldur's Gate, which I loved playing. From what I've seen, while the game mechanics are similar, but the story takes place in a different setting. Character creation was a lot of fun; there was a race of Godlike. 

So of course I had to pick that race. While I was reading about the Fire Godlike's I saw a vision of a towering paladin in plate armour with glowing skin. 

A beacon of hope for people around her. 

A light in the darkness. 

Quite literally too, because Fire Godlike's glow when they take enough damage. It's really cool lore. People tend to look up to them, and a charismatic paladin sounded like a great character for my first playthrough.
